Ahhh, Paris. There was so much to see that we actually got tired of looking at things. You could spend several weeks in this city and still not see all of the history scattered about. We had somewhat of a bad first impression of Paris. Little did we know, our Airbnb was at the top of a gigantic staircase that sat on top of a gigantic hill from the metro stop. This did not sit will with a couple of weary travelers carrying heavy baggage who had just gotten through some dreadful air travel.
We quickly came around though after settling in, getting cleaned up, and venturing into the city. The people were rude, the food was mediocre at best, and one out of every 2 people smoke cigarettes, but the impressive sights made it all worth it. You can see the Eiffel Tower in pictures and movies but seeing it up close in person is really special. It’s an incredible sight, even more so at night.
We made as many tourist stops as we could and even took in some local Parisian past-times like people-watching on sidewalk cafes and carrying around baguettes in little baguette-shaped bags made specifically for carrying around baguettes. We may not return to Paris for a while, but it certainly made a great impression on us and made us even more excited for the next stop on our tour…Barcelona!!
