Cambridge & Boston, MA – the first stops on our tour. We came to New England to see Jared graduate from Hahhvahd Business School and to spend some time exploring the area. On Wednesday, we landed and went straight to the HBS campus for some events and then dinner. The next day we all braved the rain and the cold to see Jared walk the stage as an HBS grad. Congrats Jared!!
We later ventured into Boston where we took a Freedom Trail tour around the city. Our tour guide was dressed as Isaiah Thomas (the historical American newspaper publisher, not the Boston Celtics point guard). He actually remained in character throughout the entire tour…although he did confuse us all once when he told a random story about him and his girlfriend. We stopped at a historical grave site that holds the remains of Samuel Adams, and the tour guide was quick to point out a bar across the street that’s the only place in America you could enjoy a cold Sam Adams right next to a cold Sam Adams. He had jokes.
We finished the day with an evening at Fenway Pahk to see the Red Sox play the Mariners. After a Harvard graduation, a Freedom Trail tour all over Boston, and enough booze and Fenway Franks to make us explode, our Cambridge/Boston excursion came to an end. It’s an amazing area with lots of history, quaint architecture, and people who really dislike the letter “r.” We may not come back for a while, if ever, but we certainly will never forget it. Next up…Brooklyn!
